What is Human in the Loop (HITL)?

Human in the loop refers to the business user or analyst who is responsible for translating system-generated analytic output into business value.  The human user delivers all the post-BI cognitive processing: surfacing, correlating and synthesizing insights; applying business context, assessing the next best business action and eventually making a decision.
