GLOSSARY

What is a Business Context Graph?

A business context graph connects relationships based on context. It is an interconnected dataset that's been enriched with meaning. It allows for reasoning about the underlying data and uses it to support complex decision-making.

Databases have a static, shallow context, not a rich, dynamic one. Context is always being dynamically added with graphs. A context graph lends itself to advanced analytics because it connects everything you have on a topic and captures relationships, you get out more information than you put in.

While the first layer of context is dynamic, the second layer is driven by a semantic layer which greatly enriches the underlying data.  The addition of semantics drives the capability to infer meaning from the graph which is critical in Decision Intelligence.
